Ease your frustration with iEarned That

There is a seriously cool app for frustrated moms in town. iearned that is a wonderful and creative way to get your kids on board with your ideas. It was created by a pediatrician and a mom using the reward system for good behavior. You choose the tasks or behaviors you want your children to learn and attach rewards to them. The best thing about this app is that you and your child can create it together. This gets them involved in the process. Any time you get your child interested in something that involves learning is always a bonus.

This app turns a picture of your child’s requested reward into a 3-D puzzle. Each time your child completes his/her task successfully, they get to add a piece to the puzzle. When the puzzle is complete, you then give him/her the reward. It can be anything they want. A bedtime story or staying up a little late, perhaps there is a special toy or game they want. Whatever it is that turn your kid on is perfect for this.

The interface is simple and easy to use. You choose a picture of your child from your iphone picture gallery. If you don’t have one (like that’s gonna happen- you’re a mom!) you have the option to take one. Once you have added your child or children you now have to decide what tasks and reward you both want to work on. You can either choose a photo from your phone or take a picture of whatever reward you have selected. Once that is place, you set the tasks and then decide the number of pieces you want your puzzle to be. That is all there is to it.

The only drawback was when choosing a photo, scrolling through the photos was a little slow and choppy. That might have to do with the number of pictures in one’s gallery. Besides that, this is a very creative idea.

This app is available in the iTunes app store either online or on your iphone. There is a lite version that allows you to add one child and one task. You can add multiple children and multiple tasks if you invest in the full version. In this case the investment is an investment in your child and your own peace of mind.
